PURETHANE™ is a portfolio of water-based acrylic polyurethane adhesives manufactured by Bostik for constructing flexible packaging laminates. These adhesives are made from polyurethane dispersions (PUDs), which offer easier line cleanup, lower foaming, prevention of gravure cell plugging, and good leveling. They also facilitate good laminate clarity, critical for the aesthetic quality of finished packaging. PURETHANE™ laminating adhesives encompass both one- and two-component adhesives, where cross-linkers help form two-component systems that facilitate higher bond strength and durability under exposure to high levels of moisture, temperature, and chemicals.
