Lattice® NT-20
Lattice® NT-20 is a microcrystalline cellulose powder with an average particle size of 20 µm. It is typically used as a processing aid for wet granulation tableting.
Lattice® NT-20 is a binder grade of microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) with an average particle size of 20 µm. Produced by the acid hydrolysis of wood pulp, Lattice® NT-20 is an excellent dry binder and is most often used as a processing aid for wet granulation. It may also be used as a binder in direct compression or dry granulation processes. In such binder applications, it is recommended to use Lattice® NT-20 in systems with a similar particle size to reduce the chance of segregation. Lattice® NT-20 may be used optimally in direct compression and granulation processes at a use rate of 20%–50%, based on the final weight of the product.
Lattice® NT-20 also has inherent disintegrant properties. It is EPA exempt, making it an excellent adjuvant for agrochemical formulations, including pesticide tablets, water-dispersible granules, wettable powders, and more. In agrochemical formulations, Lattice® NT-20 is best used in a range of 5–20 wt%. Lattice® NT-20 is also useful as a temporary binder in ceramic formulations, as it burns out clean upon firing. The recommended use level of Lattice® NT-20 in ceramics is 5–10 wt%.
Lattice® NT-20 microcrystalline cellulose is only approved for industrial, nonfood, and nonpharmaceutical use.
