Sodium Pyrion is highly effective against micro-organisms. Often used in water based fluids such as metal working, hydraulic, industrial lubricants, and water based latex paint applications. The pyrithione chemistry is often used when stability and low leachability is critical. Able to be used in low doses, reduces treatment costs and can be used in post treatment or metalworking fluid concentrates. This wide range & highly active biocide inhibits the unwanted growth of fungi, yeast, mold, and other microbial organisms. Formulations will differ by composition, application and susceptibility of microbial attack. It is recommended to test biocide levels at multiple treat rates (3000, 4000, 5000 ppm) to gauge efficacy in particular applications. Industry standard laboratory testing is available from Janssen to help with particular formulation questions.
