Krytox™ Vacuum Pump Fluids

Krytox™ Lubricants - Simply Safer. Period.

Vacuum pump fluids are essential in a variety of specialty industrial processes, but are rarely thought about until something goes wrong.  If you use a Krytox™ vacuum pump fluid, you may never have to think about the fluid again.  Click here to view all vacuum pump fluid solutions.

What Are Krytox™ PFPE Vacuum Pump Fluids?

Krytox™ performance lubricants are a perfect fit for vacuum pumps in applications where safety, waste management, or maintenance issues are prominent. Krytox™ vacuum pump fluids are synthetic perfluoropolyether (PFPE) based VPF oils that exhibit exceptional long-term stability, increased safety, and effective pump lubrication across numerous applications. Krytox™ oils are completely inert and unaffected by outgassing in the system that could easily degrade hydrocarbon-based VPF oils, leading to pump sludge, seizure, or flammability concerns.

Why Use a Chemours Krytox™ Lubricant or VPF Oil?

Chemours is well known as an industry-leading manufacturer of premium lubricants within the Krytox™ portfolio. These high-performance lubricants lend themselves to industries and applications that require truly next-level performance and protection. Krytox™ vacuum pump fluids provide exceptional performance in comparison to other non-PFPE or conventional fluid solutions and offer these additional benefits:

  • Nonflammable: Eliminate the chance of fire in the pump
  • Nonreactive: Will not degrade fluid, seals, O-rings, or contaminate system
  • Zero-Acetal Groups: Superior stability and fluid life
  • Ultralow Vapor Pressure: Maintains desired pump level and avoids system contamination

Krytox™ Vacuum Pump Fluids & Greases

Chemours Krytox™ XP series of vacuum pump fluids contains an additional layer of soluble additives to prevent rust formation. These performance additives provide exceptional moisture repellency, providing long-term protection of internal metal parts, bearing surfaces, and components.

Common Vacuum Pump Problems

  • Loss of Vacuum or Pressure in System
If proper maintenance is not performed, many issues could cause a drop in performance across the pump system—clogged filters, sticking rotary vanes, and chips, pitting, and wear are a few examples. If a mineral oil or inferior lubricant is used, byproduct formation can lead to sludge buildup that can gum up the system and decrease the lubricating performance considerably as the oil becomes too thick.

Chemours Krytox™ vacuum pump fluids are entirely inert and will not form any byproducts (miscible or otherwise) compared to conventional mineral oils that create sludge and build deposits in the pump system over time.
  • Smoking Oil or Fire from Pump
Foul odors, smoke generation, and fire are all undesired phenomena in the operation of a vacuum pump. They can be caused by an electric spark, contaminated oil, poor ventilation, and more. When combined with a flammable VPF, it can quickly escalate and cause a severely unsafe environment.

Krytox™ vacuum pump fluids enhance not only the operation of the pump system but also the overall safety through their inherent nonflammability. By selecting a nonflammable oil for your lubricant solution, you protect the well-being of your system and facility in case of unforeseen accidents.
