UCON™ R-4
UCON™ R-4 is an ISO 68 polyalkylene glycol oil designed for extended service life and performance in reciprocating hydrogen compressors.
Dow UCON™ R-4 is a PAG-based synthetic lubricant designed for superior cylinder lubrication of reciprocating hydrogen compressors commonly used in refinery processes. UCON™ R-4 has an excellent viscosity index and high-performance properties, making it an excellent versatile lubricant. UCON™ R-4 provides ultraclean machine performance and has a viscosity of 74.1 cSt at 38°C. In addition, UCON™ R-4 offers good thermal conductivity, exceptional lubrication, and low vapor pressure. This polyalkylene glycol–based fluid also eliminates the high costs of required maintenance checks. In addition, UCON™ R-4 synthetic glycol limits buildup in cylinders, maintaining the cleanliness of systems. It is also compatible with many common elastomers.
UCON™ R-4 lubricant compressor oil solves many problems, such as thermal conductivity issues and frequent sludge or varnish buildup. UCON™ R-4 oil also has exceptional lubricity and water-tolerant properties, keeping equipment free of corrosion, especially in applications with harsh or unforgiving environments.
