Eastman Sucrose Acetate Isobutyrate
Overview
Eastman™ sucrose acetate isobutyrate (SAIB) is a versatile odorless and flavorless product used in a variety of applications from foods to coatings. In the beverage industry, SAIB is used as a weighting agent and a flavor emulsion stabilizer to prevent separation during storage. It also improves the appearance and stability of beverage clouds to help brands achieve the natural look consumers demand. Additionally, it is used in the personal care industry as a plasticizer for nail polish, a gravity-controlling agent for fragrances, and a film-forming agent for cosmetics, shampoos, and conditioners. In the coatings and plastics industries, SAIB is also used as a modifying extender for film-formers and extruded plastics.
