ETHOCEL™ Standard 20 Industrial
ETHOCEL™ Standard 20 Industrial is an ethyl cellulose polymer that is used as a thickener, binder, and film former in solvent based inks and coatings.
ETHOCEL™ Standard 20 Industrial is a water-insoluble, thermoplastic, ethyl cellulose polymer. It is soluble in most common solvent types used for printing inks and specialty coatings including alcohols, ketones, esters, and ethers. It works well as a binder, rheology modifier, and film former in applications that require a high degree of purity and performance. ETHOCEL™ Standard 20 Industrial dramatically improves green strength when used in conductive pastes and ceramic applications. In addition, it burns out cleanly to less than 0.2 wt% ash. ETHOCEL™ Standard 20 Industrial can be added to paints, inks, and coatings to impart a pseudoplastic rheology. It will also improve film strength and flexibility.
ETHOCEL™ Standard 20 Industrial can be dissolved in hot polymers, oils, plasticizers, and waxes. In hot melt applications is improves bond strength and moisture resistance when added in relatively low concentrations. In flexographic and gravure printing inks ETHOCEL™ Standard 20 Industrial is used as a binder for pigments and other components and will improve printability onto glass and plastic surfaces. Ink films formed by ETHOCEL™ Standard 20 Industrial have excellent resistance to moisture and a high degree of flexibility.
