TEXTURECEL™ 1000 PA 07 is low molecular weight, high purity sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC). It has lower carboxyl substitution than standard TEXTURECEL™ grades. TEXTURECEL™ 1000 PA 07 is used to thicken water-based formulations. It provides a viscosity of 1000 cP when added to water at a 2% addition rate. TEXTURECEL™ 1000 PA 07 is well suited for welding electrode applications and lithium ion battery applications because of it's purity. In welding electrodes TEXTURECEL™ 1000 PA 07 is used as a binder. It stabilizes the consistency of sodium silicate, helps to disperse additives, acts as a lubricant for the extrusion process, increases strength, and reduces breaking. In Lithium battery applications, TEXTURECEL™ 1000 PA 07 improves the dispersion of conductive material, increases mechanical integrity of electrodes, and improve adhesion to current collectors.
