Rokolub® 50-B-80 is a synthetic polyalkylene glycol (PAG) base oil reacted from equal parts ethylene oxide and propylene oxide, producing ethoxylated and propoxylated butanol with a terminal hydroxyl group. It is available as a colorless to yellow, homogeneous liquid with a high viscosity index of 220. With excellent solubility in water at 20°C, Rokolub® 50-B-80 is an ideal synthetic base oil for water-based compressor fluids, hydraulic fluids, textile lubricants, working fluids, and more. The polyalkylene glycol has superior lubricity, wear protection, and extreme-pressure performance. The base oil also delivers superior all-weather performance, providing high-temperature performance and maintaining stability in temperatures as low as −43°C.

When machining fluids, hydraulic fluids, compressor oils, and other lubricants are not properly formulated with the right base oils, industrial systems face several challenges, including friction, wear, and heat-related failures. Poor anti-wear and lubrication properties lead to component damage and premature failure, while poor thermal and oxidative stability lead to oil degradation, sludge, and varnish.
