Overview
Glyclean® D99 is a dual-action glycolic acid–based ingredient that offers both antimicrobial and disinfecting properties, along with superior cleaning performance due to it's high purity in powder or solid form, and within anhydrous formulations.
Glyclean® D99 utilizes its dual functional groups (acid and alcohol) to disrupt microbial cell walls and membranes. Its small molecule size allows for fast penetration and minimizes the risk of microbial resistance development.
Glyclean® D99 is effective against a broad range of both gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, including E. coli (O157:H7), Listeria welshimeri, Pseudomonas, Salmonella, and Staphylococcus. Full EN 13697 studies are available.
Glyclean® D99 has shown efficacy against large and small viruses, including both enveloped and non-enveloped types. Testing has demonstrated its effectiveness against SARS-CoV-2 (the virus causing COVID-19), Influenza Type A, Rhinovirus Type 37, Herpes Type 1, and more.
