ADCOTE™ 1217D is a solution based, polyester adhesive in 1,3-Dioxolane. It provides outstanding adhesion to plastic and metallic surfaces and is sometimes used as a primer for these difficult to bond substrates. ADCOTE™ 1217D should be applied at a coating weight of 2.0-6.0 lbs / ream and will form bonds with exceptional heat and chemical resistance. ADCOTE™ 1217D can be applied to PET and foil as a heat seal coating and be subsequently sealed to APET, CPET, PVC, and PVDC films. It also has approvals for direct and indirect food contact is commonly used to seal food packaging. The high bond strength of ADCOTE™ 1217D makes it useful in sail and fabric laminations where a exposure to high stress can cause unacceptable adhesion failure.
