MOR-FREE™ 1390A is the polyester component of a two-component solventless polyurethane laminating adhesive system used in retort packaging applications.
MOR-FREE™ 1390A is combined with the coreactant MOR-FREE™ C-33 to form a 100% solids, two-component polyurethane laminating adhesive. Of the solventless laminating adhesives that Bostik manufactures, this adhesive is the only one suitable for creating film-to-film laminations for retort packaging because of its outstanding heat and chemical resistance. MOR-FREE™ 1390A is also used in applications that require excellent UV resistance, such as outdoor bags, when paired with the MOR-FREE™ C-33 coreactant. This is because MOR-FREE™ C-33 is an aliphatic isocyanate, which resists yellowing upon exposure to UV. This adhesive system provides fast run speeds, low odor, excellent adhesion to metallized films, and broad FDA compliance.
