ADCOTE™ 37R972 is a water-based heat seal coating based on ethylene vinyl acetate. It has a very low activation temperature and is ideally suited for shrink films used in the beverage packaging industry. ADCOTE™ 37R972 can be applied to PET, foil, or paper at a coating weight of 1.5–3.0 pounds per ream to form a heat-sealable coating with excellent clarity. Its main function is to adhere shrink films with printed labels better to irregularly shaped bottles or cans to prevent slipping. The coating can also be sealed to many common flexible packaging materials, including polyethylene, polypropylene, polyester, aluminum foil, paper, and PVDC. The clarity of ADCOTE™ 37R972, combined with a low activation and drying temperature, makes this heat seal coating the perfect choice for shrink labels that have little or no ink coverage, such that product color is displayed correctly through the packaging.
