ADCOTE™ 50C12 is a water-based acrylic dispersion used as a heat seal coating and a primer for extrusion coating aluminum foil with polyethylene.
ADCOTE™ 50C12 is a water-based dispersion of ethylene acrylic acid resin that exhibits outstanding adhesion to metal foils and paper. It provides good resistance to oil, grease, and moisture. ADCOTE™ 50C12 is often used as a primer for extrusion coating aluminum foil with polyethylene, EVA, and acrylics.
Being thermoplastic, ADCOTE™ 50C12 is also commonly used as a heat seal coating. When applied to foil, paper, or polyethylene, it forms a grease-resistant coating that can be subsequently heat sealed to form laminates with other polyethylene films, foil, and paper substrates. Adhesive bonds formed with ADCOTE™ 50C12 are strong, peelable, and resistant to moisture, oils, and grease. This makes ADCOTE™ 50C12 ideally suited for the heat sealing and lidding of packaging and challenging products, such as condiments and sauces.
