LOCTITE® 225 is a medium-strength brown liquid threadlocker with medium viscosity. Designed for locking and sealing metal fasteners, it prevents loosening from shock and vibration while allowing disassembly using standard hand tools.
LOCTITE® 225 is a one-component anaerobic adhesive that cures in confined spaces between close-fitting metal surfaces and the absence of air. It’s perfect for assemblies requiring reliable bonding with eventual disassembly. Its liquid form ensures effective penetration into threads and reduces messy application.
Colour is brown, and the adhesive is liquid with medium viscosity. Viscosity ranges between 17 500–52 500 mPa·s at 2.5 rpm and 5 900–10 300 mPa·s at 20 rpm . Fixture time is approximately 50 minutes with full cure in 24 hours. The product performs reliably between –55 °C and +150 °C. It is available in 50 ml and 250 ml bottles.
Primary Chemistry: Methacrylate ester
The medium-strength formulation secures fasteners firmly but allows removal with ordinary tools. Its medium viscosity ensures it stays in place after application, resisting run-off and drips. Effective on metals such as steel, stainless steel, brass and plated surfaces, the cured threadlocker withstands shock, vibration and thermal cycling. It also fluoresces under UV light for easy QA inspection.
