Overview
EPOLENE® C-26 is a branched, medium molecular weight, low-density polyethylene wax polymer grafted with maleic anhydride. The polarity and molecular weight of this wax polymer make it an ideal coupling agent for polyolefin composites containing fillers, reinforcing agents, or additives. Maleic anhydride's added polarity and functionality also play a large role in providing compatibility between polyolefin and fillers such as wood, glass, fibers, and metals.
EPOLENE® C-26's maleic anhydride modification also makes it useful in additive masterbatches to improve the compatibility of polyethylene with additives like non-halogenated flame retardants. In addition, EPOLENE® C-26 wax can be used in hot-melt coatings for paper. Coatings made from EPOLENE® C-26 have high gloss and can be heat sealed to paper, foils, and other common packaging films.
