HiTEC® 10000 additive is an ashless dialkyldithiophosphate used as an anti-wear and extreme-pressure agent in industrial oil, gear oil, and grease formulations.
HiTEC® 10000 additive is a zinc-free and chlorine-free dialkylthiophosphate intended to be used as an anti-wear and extreme-pressure agent for formulating gear oils, industrial oils, and greases. It is excellent for improving the extreme-pressure and FZG performance of hydraulic fluids and turbine oils without negatively impacting filterability. HiTEC® 10000 additive has wide additive and base oil compatibility and is soluble in mineral and synthetic base stocks.
Features & Benefits
Ashless, zinc free
Chlorine free
Multifunctional uses
Soluble in Groups I, II, III, and IV base oils
Compatible with most common additives
Ideally suited for improving EP and anti-wear properties in turbine and hydraulic oils
Problems Solved
Turbine oils, hydraulic fluids, and other industrial lubricants that experience high loads require effective anti-wear and extreme-pressure agents; otherwise, the equipment runs the risk of premature scuffing, wear, and component failure. The choice of anti-wear additive depends on the application. Zinc-containing additives like ZDDP can break down under high heat and pressure, forming sludge, varnish, and acidic compounds that corrode the system. They also hinder filtering and can be toxic to the environment.
Ashless additives are component chemistries that do not contain metal. They can improve the performance of lubricants operating at high temperatures as they do not leave behind solid metallic residue (ash) when burned.
Why is zinc problematic in some hydraulic and turbine oils?
Zinc-based additives, such as ZDDP, can be problematic in certain industrial lubricants because they break down at high operating temperatures, creating sludge and deposits that clog filters. Zinc also poses significant risks to marine life if leaked.
