HiTEC® 523 low-zinc, anti-wear hydraulic fluid additive package carries Denison HF-0, HF-1 and HF-2 approvals.
HiTEC® 523 additive package is a low-zinc solution for the formulation of anti-wear hydraulic fluids. The additive demonstrates Denison HF-0, HF-1 and HF-2 performance in the T6H20C hybrid pump test. It also meets DIN 51524 part II and FZG A/8.3/90 load stage 10 tests, and is approved for Cincinnati Machine P-68, P-69, and P-70 specifications. Additionally, Afton has engineered HiTEC® 523 additive package with excellent water filterability, yellow metal corrosion protection, rust and oxidation protection, and anti-wear performance, as proven by the ISO 20763 (Conestoga) vane pump test.

While zinc demonstrates exceptional anti-wear and antioxidant performance, it can be harmful to aquatic life, posing a potential issue in environmentally-sensitive applications where hydraulic leaks occur. Zinc-free or low-zinc hydraulic oils are advantageous in these instances, but must still deliver optimum performance. Inferior industrial hydraulic oils can cause pump wear, sludge and corrosion, resulting in frequent oil changes, filter blockages or poor equipment performance.
