LUDOX® Monodispersed Colloidal Silica
LUDOX® Colloidal Silicas are water-based dispersions of amorphous silica ranging in particle size from 5-22 nanometers. Each grade of LUDOX® colloidal silica has a very tight particle size distribution and varies in pH, silica sol charge, and stabilizing mechanism.
LUDOX® colloidal silica is listed in over 30,000 patents and is useful in a wide variety of applications ranging from industrial to food & beverage. As a binder, LUDOX® silica particles develop inert and thermally resistant bonds with granular and fibrous materials making it useful where stability at high temperatures is required. LUDOX® is also commonly used as a surface modifier to increase friction on various surfaces including paper, textiles, and flooring. LUDOX® is also an excellent source of silica for densifying concrete surfaces through the production of calcium silica hydrates (CSH).
The applications for this versatile product are virtually endless. Find the grade of LUDOX® that best suits your application below or try out our convenient selector guide.
