SYLOBLOC^® 25B is a synthetic amorphous silica antiblocking agent supplied as a free-flowing powder with intermediate pore volume and among the SYLOBLOC^® grades with the smallest particle sizes. SYLOBLOC^® 25B is very easy to disperse in masterbatches used to make LLDPE, BOPP, and IPP plastic films. Given that it is purposefully manufactured silica, specifications are tightly controlled and impurities are low. This makes SYLOBLOC^® 25B a very efficient antiblocking aid. SYLOBLOC^® 25B also possesses excellent optical clarity, preventing compromise to the visual quality and clarity of films it is used in. Although it is used as an antiblocking agent, SYLOBLOC^® 25B also helps provide improvements to slip on films. Since it has a relatively small particle size, it is recommended for films less than 20 µm thick. Typical applications for films using SYLOBLOC^® 25B include food packaging, greenhouse and silage wraps, and capacitor films.
