SYLOBLOC^® 48X1962 is a synthetic amorphous silica antiblocking agent used for transparent films. Among SYLOBLOC^® grades, SYLOBLOC^® 48X1962 has relatively large pore volume and a large particle size. This lends itself to having among the best antiblocking performance for films with thicknesses between 50 and 70 µm. Since it is manufactured silica and not an antiblocking product produced from mining, it has tight specifications and low impurity content that maximizes film quality. Like other SYLOBLOC^® grades, SYLOBLOC^® 48X1962 possesses outstanding optical properties by having a refractive index close to the polymer films it is incorporated into, preserving the optical quality and clarity of films. It functions by creating a high degree of microscale roughness for plastic films. It also aids in adding slip to plastic films. SYLOBLOC^® 48X1962 is quite versatile in terms of which polymers it can be used with, as LLDPE, LDPE, PP, PVC, and PET are all good candidates.
