Elvacite™ BR-107 is an acrylic resin with a moderate degree of hardness and flexibility, making it useful for creating durable adhesives and coatings used in packaging applications. Elvacite™ BR-107 is supplied as a solid, nondusting bead that rapidly dissolves in a variety of solvents, including toluene, MEK, acetone, and PCBTF. Films formed with BR-107 have high resistance to weathering, yellowing, moisture, and attack from dilute acids and bases. Like all Elvacite™ grades, BR-107 has a low degree of polydispersity, which helps improve weathering, brittleness, and toughness. It is typically used in solvent-based adhesive and heat seal coating formulations, where the balance of flexibility and toughness allows for the application of flexible plastic and foil lids and the development of strong bonds.
Poor bonding to flexible plastic or foil substrates Dissolution or delamination of adhesives due to exposure to chemicals or moisture Extended production times due to slowly dissolving resins
