Armolube® EM 201 is a multifunctional ethoxylated amine emulsifying additive that demonstrates high stability and hard-water tolerance in metalworking fluid formulations.
Armolube® EM 201 from Nouryon is a high-performance tallow alkylamine ethoxylate additive that functions as an emulsifier and friction modifier in industrial and metalworking applications. It is intended for use in soluble oil and semi-synthetic metalworking fluid formulations, and it is particularly well suited for rolling oils and cutting fluids. As a weakly cationic emulsifier, it delivers excellent water-in-oil (W/O) and oil-in-water (O/W) co-emulsification, and it demonstrates hard-water tolerance and stability in acid and alkali systems. Armolube® EM 201 also provides secondary anti-wear, lubricity, corrosion inhibition, detergency, and dispersant benefits.

Emulsified soluble oil and semi-synthetic metalworking fluids depend on reliable emulsifying additives to maintain stability. When emulsions fall apart, the fluid's lubricity and final performance are negatively impacted. Hard water often creates unstable emulsions, and emulsifiers that show poor tolerance to hard water will be ineffective in certain operations.
