Viridisol or MeTHF (2-Methyltetrahydrofuran) is based on furfural derived from waste corn cobs.

Viridisol M is a very effective extraction solvent that is inversely soluble in water. MeTHF can outperform tetrahydrofuran (THF) and methylene chloride/dichloromethane (DCM) in Grignard and other organometallic reactions.
