ELEMINOL JS-20
ELEMINOL JS-20 is a high-performance reactive anionic surfactant formulated by Sanyo Chemical for its excellent emulsifiability and copolymerizability with monomer materials in the production of soapless emulsions. As a sodium alkyl allyl sulfosuccinate co-polymerizable emulsifier, it facilitates the production of mechanically and chemically stable emulsions when mixed with monomers.
ELEMINOL JS-20 is a premium reactive anionic surfactant that can be used alone or in conjunction with other non-ionic surfactants, such as vinyl acetate, styrene, ethyl acrylate, butyl acrylate, alkyl acrylate, methacrylate, and more. It is a blend of sodium alkyl allyl sulfosuccinate with double bonds in each molecule for the facilitation of radical polymerization. Upon introduction into polymer molecules, this system forms emulsion particles with excellent mechanical and chemical stability. The resulting coating film provides excellent adhesion and water resistance, preventing the risk of emulsifier migration to the coating surface. It also helps to ensure a stable, low-viscosity emulsion is created without the risk of excessive foam formation or phase separation.
ELEMINOL JS-20 can be used in the monomer dripping method, batch charging, or the pre-emulsion method.
Reactive anionic surfactant Capable of radical polymerization of the double bonds Used as an emulsion-polymerization copolymerizable emulsifier Excellent copolymerization with monomers Excellent mechanical and chemical stability Adhesive and water-resistant coating film formed High-speed coating performance Can be applied alone or with other emulsifiers Produces low-viscosity emulsion Forms heat-resistant film
Problems Solved
Migration of emulsifier to the coating surface Poor chemical and mechanical stability of emulsifier Excessive foam production during the emulsification process Phase separation of emulsion
Applications
Soapless emulsions Emulsion polymerization of vinyl acetate, styrene, ethyl acrylate, butyl acrylate, etc.
