EPOLENE^® C-16P is the powdered form of EPOLENE^® C-16 polyethylene wax. It is a highly branched, maleic anhydride–modified, low-density polyethylene (LDPE) wax powder with medium molecular weight. It is mostly used in heat seal coatings for packaging applications, producing a barrier coating that can be heat sealed to foils, polyolefin films, and paper. When specifically used as an additive in hot-melt coatings with paraffin wax, EPOLENE^® C-16P increases abrasion resistance and hot tack while stabilizing gloss. 

EPOLENE^® C-16P polyethylene wax is also used as a base polymer in highly filled masterbatches. EPOLENE^® C-16P acts as a processing aid to reduce torque and die pressure for masterbatch equipment. It also functions as a pigment dispersion aid to provide wetting of additives and prevent pigment agglomeration in color concentrates. In addition, EPOLENE^® C-16P can be blended with other wax polymers used in hot-melt adhesive formulations to improve hot tack and adhesion to smooth surfaces.
