EPOLENE® N-34 is a low–molecular weight polyethylene polymer with a low coefficient of friction and good wetting properties used in a variety of coating, ink, and color masterbatch applications. EPOLENE® N-34 is typically used in coating and ink applications as a modifier for natural and synthetic wax to improve physical properties. In printing ink and paper coating applications, the EPOLENE® N-34 polymer improves scuff resistance and gloss. This polymer can also be used in hot-melt adhesives to adjust viscosity, reduce sag, and improve adhesion to fibrous substrates. It is also useful as a pigment-dispersing aid in color masterbatches for plastics applications, where it reduces die and filter pressure during extrusion processes.
Poor dispersion of pigments in masterbatches, leading to agglomeration or inconsistent color strength
Low viscosity of hot-melt adhesives
Insufficient modification of coating or ink physical properties by natural or synthetic waxes
