EPOLENE® EE-2 is a low–molecular weight polyethylene wax that is an easily blended asphalt modifier that minimally increases viscosity while improving storage stability.
EPOLENE® EE-2 is a medium-density, low–molecular weight oxidized polyethylene polymer. It is commonly used as an alternative to EVA and SBS modifiers for asphalt blends. EPOLENE® EE-2 is much simpler to incorporate into asphalt blends than EVA and SBS and provides a minimal viscosity increase, facilitating easier workability. It is compatible with several types of asphalt blends and significantly increases the storage stability of asphalt mixes. The low viscosity and low softening point of EPOLENE® EE-2 also make it useful in coatings based on emulsions, where it, along with other emulsifiable EPOLENE® waxes, contributes to better abrasion resistance and good gloss and hardness.
