EPOLENE® C-17P is a branched, low-density polyethylene wax supplied as a fine powder. It is frequently used as a base polymer for color masterbatches.
EPOLENE® C-17P is a medium molecular weight, highly branched, low-density polyethylene wax. It is an excellent base polymer for color masterbatches and has even replaced linear low-density polyethylene in many color concentrates because it facilitates easier processing and higher output. EPOLENE® C-17P may also be used as a solvent-based or water-based ink additive to increase abrasion resistance and slip to printed surfaces.
EPOLENE® C-17P wax can also be blended with other polymers and waxes used in hot-melt coatings and adhesives to increase the viscosity of the wax blend, allowing for controlled penetration into paper substrates. Coatings that include EPOLENE® C-17P have higher blocking temperatures and improved gloss, scuff resistance, and grease resistance.
