LOCTITE® 242
Loctite® 242 is a medium-strength, medium-viscosity threadlocker designed to lock and seal threaded fasteners that require disassembly with standard hand tools. It cures in the absence of air between metal surfaces and offers strong resistance against vibration and shock, making it suitable for a wide range of industrial applications.
Loctite® 242 is a one-component, anaerobic adhesive that forms a durable, vibration-resistant bond on threaded metal fasteners. Its medium viscosity and thixotropic formulation prevent adhesive migration after application, ensuring clean and precise use. It is ideal for use on less active metals such as stainless steel and plated finishes, and is compatible with fasteners that may have light oil contamination. Loctite® 242 offers reliable performance up to 150°C and cures fully within 24 hours.
