LOCTITE® 380E (also known as Black Max 380) is a single-component, room-temperature cure adhesive based on rubber toughened ethyl cyanoacrylate. Its formulation delivers superior performance where assemblies face shock, vibration or thermal stress. With a medium viscosity of approximately 300–800 mPa·s, it balances fast penetration into close fitting parts while maintaining precise control during application. Fixture is typically achieved in under 120 seconds depending on substrate and bondline gap, with final strength developing over 24 hours. The product provides excellent peel strength (>14 pli), high dielectric breakdown (~25 kV/mm), and a tensile strength of around 2 700 psi. It bonds reliably to metal, plastic and rubber substrates and remains functional in service temperatures from –65 °C to +107 °C.
