LOCTITE® 675
LOCTITE® 675 is a one-component, very low viscosity, high strength, slow-curing retaining compound designed for close-fitting and press-fitting cylindrical parts.
LOCTITE® 675 is engineered to secure shafts, sleeves, bushings and other cylindrical metal assemblies where gap clearance is minimal (≤ 0.1 mm) and high retention strength is required. Its low viscosity allows the adhesive to penetrate tight tolerances while the slow-curing anaerobic chemistry offers extended time for accurate positioning before full polymerisation. The compound develops high shear strength and reliable performance even under temperatures ranging from –55 °C to +150 °C, making it ideal for heavy-duty industrial equipment, oversized press-fits and assemblies subject to high loads or vibration.
Specifications
Colour: Green Viscosity: ~100-150 mPa·s at 25 °C Fixture time on steel: ~45 minutes Maximum diametral clearance: ≤ 0.10 mm Service temperature range: –55 °C to +150 °C Shear strength (steel): ~20 N/mm² Primary Chemistry:
Methacrylate ester
Features & Benefits
Provides exceptionally high retention strength for tight-tolerance cylindrical components.
Very low viscosity ensures thorough wetting of gap-clearances in press-fits and slip-fits.
Slow-curing formulation delivers more working time for part positioning and alignment.
Tolerance to high temperature and dynamic loads enhances durability in industrial applications.
One-part adhesive system requires no mixing and simplifies inventory and assembly process.
Problems Solved
Eliminates component movement, fretting corrosion or slippage in tight-fitting cylindrical assemblies.
Reduces reliance on mechanical locking devices such as keys, pins or broaching in applications with minimal clearance.
Avoids assembly rework caused by premature cure or misalignment, thanks to extended working time.
Improves equipment life and reliability in heavy-duty operations exposed to vibration, shock or elevated temperatures.
Applications
Apply LOCTITE® 675 to clean, dry cylindrical metal mating surfaces where clearance is minimal. Ensure the component is inserted with rotation or alignment within the positioning time. The adhesive cures anaerobically between metal surfaces as air is excluded. It is suitable for press-fitted or slip-fitted assemblies such as bearings, sleeves, bushes and gears where high strength and reliable retention are required. Allow full cure before subjecting the assembly to load or service.
