LOCTITE® AA 3922 LC
LOCTITE® AA 3922 LC is a transparent, low-viscosity light-curing adhesive that bonds plastics, glass, ceramics and metals. It cures under UV or visible light in seconds and is formulated for stress-sensitive plastics and medical-device compatibility.
LOCTITE® AA 3922 LC delivers rapid, dependable bonds for high-volume and precision assembly tasks. Its low viscosity enables it to wick into narrow gaps and tight joints, ideal for small components or assemblies with close tolerances. When exposed to appropriate UV or visible light the adhesive cures quickly, allowing fixtures in as little as 5 seconds under optimal conditions and achieving deep cure beyond 13 mm. The cured bond remains flexible and clear, making it suitable for transparent housings, plastic and glass components, medical devices, and assemblies requiring both aesthetic quality and mechanical performance. The LC variant’s low-chlorine formulation supports use in sensitive applications such as medical, electronics and clean-room environments.
Specifications
Cure method: UV or visible light exposure Viscosity: low — 150 to 450 mPa·s (cone & plate, 25 °C) Specific gravity @ 25 °C: 1.04 Depth of cure: >13 mm under appropriate light intensity Fixture time: approx. 5 seconds under optimal UV/visible light exposure Substrate compatibility: plastics (including stress-sensitive types), metals, glass, ceramics Bond characteristics: flexible and clear cured adhesive suitable for small, high-precision or transparent assemblies Primary Chemistry:
Acrylic ester, light-cure adhesive
Features & Benefits
Fast UV/visible-light cure reduces production cycle time and supports rapid throughput.
Low viscosity enables controlled dispensing and good flow into tight openings, minimizing voids or excess adhesive.
Clear cured bond maintains aesthetic quality for transparent or visible components, and supports cosmetic-sensitive applications.
Strong adhesion to a range of substrates including plastics, metals, glass and ceramics increases flexibility in design and eliminates need for multiple adhesives.
Single-component, light-curing system simplifies assembly — no mixing or long curing periods required.
Autoclave-resistant and ISO 10993 compatible when specified, supporting medical device assembly and sterilisation-sensitive applications.
Problems Solved
Eliminates delays caused by slow-curing two-part adhesives or drying systems.
Prevents incomplete bonding or structural failure in assemblies with narrow gaps or stress-sensitive plastics.
Avoids aesthetic defects or yellowing in transparent components by delivering a clear, low-contaminant bond.
Simplifies process control and reduces variability by using one adhesive across plastics, metals, glass, and ceramics.
Supports regulatory and cleanliness requirements for medical, electronic or other sensitive assemblies by offering a low-chlorine, biocompatible adhesive solution.
Applications
Apply LOCTITE® AA 3922 LC to clean, dry substrates. Assemble components and expose to adequate UV or visible light to initiate cure. Ensure light reaches bond areas for rapid fixture. Because of low viscosity, the adhesive is suitable for filling narrow gaps or small parts. The light-cure system allows high throughput and consistent results. Suitable for medical devices such as syringes, lancets or disposables; transparent housings; plastic-to-metal or plastic-to-glass bonding; and general industrial or electronics assemblies requiring fast, clear, durable adhesive bonds.
