Elvacite™ 2614 is a methacrylate copolymer that is similar in composition to Elvacite™ 2013. Unlike Elvacite™ 2013, Elvacite™ 2614 does not posses and sulfur containing compounds and as such produces much less odor. Elvacite™ 2614 is available as a free flowing bead resin and is soluble in ketones, toluene, esters, and glycol ethers. It can be dissolved in these solvents relatively rapidly at room temperature to produce a clear, low viscosity solution. Elvacite™ 2614 releases solvent quickly and rapidly cures to form clear, durable films with good flexibility, UV resistance, and gloss. Elvacite™ 2614 is often used as a binder and film former in inks, lacquers, and plastic coatings.
