Elvacite™ 4349 is a methacrylate based bead resin that is designed to have excellent adhesion to aluminum and other metal surfaces. This solid bead resin is soluble in many common solvent types used in coating, ink, and adhesive formulations including ketones, aromatics, and esters. Elvacite™ 4349 is an ideal binder / film former for printing inks, industrial coatings, and structural adhesives that need excellent adhesion to steel, aluminum, brass, zinc, copper, and tin. When used as a binder or film former, Elvacite™ 4349 will form durable films with good flexibility and excellent outdoor weatherability. This resin is often used in metal coatings that require durability in harsh conditions including transportation finishes and marine coatings. Elvacite™ 4349 is an ideal binding resin for coil coatings applied to aluminum. The ability of Elvacite™ 4349 to be applied to untreated aluminum offers coil coaters the opportunity to lower cost and boost efficiency by removing the pre-treatment step.
