Elvacite™ 4045
Elvacite™ 4045 is a methacrylate polymer that is designed for use as a binder in ink formulations. It is particularly useful in screen printing ink.
Elvacite™ 4045 is a medium molecular weight, thermoplastic acrylic resin.
It is available as a solid bead that can be dissolved in ketones, toluene, esters, glycol ethers, and chlorinated hydrocarbons.
Elvacite™ 4045 is designed for use as a binder in screen printing ink where it provides excellent pigment wetting and outstanding resistance to weathering, UV resistance, and durability.
It can also be used in flexographic and gravure applications where it provides similar benefits.
Solutions of Elvacite™ 4045 will produce hard, durable films with excellent clarity.
For this reason, it is often used as a film forming resin for protective glass coatings.
Poor durability of screen printing ink caused by low cost binders
Yellowing and damage of inks and coatings caused by exposure to ultra violet rays
Poor clarity of coatings caused by a lack of compatibility with solvents
