AKPEROX® A9LP is an innovative catalyst material from AKPA that consists of methyl ketone peroxide (MEKP) in a 2,4,4-trimethyl-1,3-pentanediol diisobutyrate solvent base.
AKPEROX® A9LP is a high-performance MEKP catalyst specially designed for the room-temperature cure of unsaturated polyester resins with the use of a cobalt accelerator. A colorless methyl ethyl ketone peroxide in a 2,4,4-trimethyl-1,3-pentanediol diisobutyrate solvent, AKPEROX® A9LP should be used in a concentration of 1% to 2%. It may be used in a wide range of applications, including spray-up and hand lay-up FRP, resin transfer molding, and filament windings. Resins containing AKPEROX® A9LP can also be heat cured at a temperature of 100°C to 127°C.
