Viton™ VC-1A is a diamine cross-linking agent used to cure A, B, and E types of Viton™ fluoroelastomers.
Viton™ VC-1A, previously known as Diak-1, is a diamine cross-linker based on hexamethylenediamine carbamate. Products cure quickly with Viton™ VC-1A and exhibit excellent compression-set and aging properties. The typical usage level for Viton™ VC-1A is 1.0 to 1.5 phr. Viton™ VC-1A is FDA- approved for use in food contact applications such as hoses, seals, valves, gaskets, and O-Rings in manufacturing. Viton™ VC-1A offers compatibility with FKM (fluoroelastomer), ACM (alkyl acrylate copolymer), AEM (ethylene acrylic rubber), and ECO (Epichlorohydrin rubber) polymer systems.
As a curing agent, Viton™ VC-1A enhances the properties of A, B, and E types of Viton™ fluoroelastomers. In Viton™ A types, Viton™ VC-1A offers higher tensile strength in both original and heat-aged conditions than Viton™ VC-3.
