RESOMER® RG 502 is a lactide-based solvent-purified copolymer containing a 50:50 ratio of D,L-lactide and glycolide with an alkyl ester end group. Available as a white to off-white granule powder, RESOMER® RG 502 has an inherent viscosity of 0.16─0.24 dL/g and a degradation time of 3 months.
RESOMER® RG 502 is a specialized pharmaceutical controlled-release agent designed for use with complex parenteral drug products, microparticles, in-situ depot formulations, drug-loaded implants, and long-acting medication systems. Formulated by Evonik with a 50:50 blend of D,L-lactide and glycolide, it is a bioabsorbable and biodegradable polymer that is readily absorbed by the body. The inherent viscosity of RESOMER® RG 502, 0.16─0.24 dL/g, influences its mechanical properties and degradation rate with a max of 3 months degradation time.
RESOMER® polymers have been purified for a reduced residual monomer content and are available in a variety of molecular weights and viscosity ranges to meet application needs. All polymer properties can also be adjusted to match formulation requirements.
