BONDERITE® S-OT 310B ACHESON is a PTFE, resin-bonded dry film lubricant that produces a low-friction coating on metal and rubber surfaces.
BONDERITE® S-OT 310B ACHESON (previously known as Emralon 310-B) is a PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) dispersion in solvent and water and part of a two-package product that should be combined with BONDERITE® S-FN 310A. These two components work together to create a robust dry film lubricant that consists of PTFE dispersed in a flexible thermosetting binder. This formulation ensures that when applied using a spray method, it produces a uniform, low-friction coating on a variety of surfaces, drastically reducing the risk of stick-slip behavior, which is critical in many mechanical applications. Its versatility is one of its strongest features, allowing it to adhere well to different metal alloys and rubber substrates. Such compatibility makes it an excellent choice for diverse sectors, ranging from industrial to consumer applications, ensuring components operate smoothly over extended periods.
For proper mixing, BONDERITE® S-FN 310A should be slowly added to BONDERITE® S-OT 310B ACHESON with continuous, slow agitation, using a propeller-type mixer or equivalent equipment to create a proper vortex. The final mixture should be a smooth dispersion. An atomizing spray gun should be used to apply the dry film coating. The recommend coating thickness is between 10 to 25 micrometers on metal surfaces and 5 to 10 micrometers on rubber. Electrostatic spray equipment with low internal resistance can also be used. For optimal curing results, BONDERITE® S-OT 310B ACHESON should be cured on one of the three following curing cycles:
60 minutes at 160°C (substrate temperature)
30 minutes at 180°C (substrate temperature)
10 minutes at 200°C (substrate temperature)

Cheap dryfilm lubricants can cause users various issues, such as insufficient anti-friction performance, poor adherence to various substrates, such as rubber or metal, and inadequate lubrication resulting in wear and tear. Traditional chemistries will react with certain chemicals and oils, causing the film to breakdown. This can shorten the lubricant lifespan and increase the likelihood of equipment damage, maintenance and downtime. This is particularly problematic for components that are challenging to lubricate and applications that require lifetime lubrication.
