Overview
HiTEC® 3491K additive is part of the HiTEC® 3491 series of service fill automatic transmission fluid additive packages that meet the requirements of General Motors (GM) DEXRON®-VI specification. With appropriate base oils and proper licensing procedures from General Motors, transmission fluids formulated with HiTEC® 3491K technology can be marketed as DEXRON®-VI automatic transmission fluid. The additive package can also be used to meet DEXRON®-II and DEXRON®-III specifications. This additive has proven lubricating performance in new and old GM transmissions to prevent component wear and extend the life of the fluid. Its resistance to oxidation at high temperatures helps protect transmissions from deposit buildup and maintain optimal shift performance. Additionally, its excellent low-temperature properties allow the fluid to continue flowing during cold start-ups. This translates to a smoother driving experience for GM vehicle owners. Problems Solved
Formulating and blending an automatic transmission fluid to GM DEXRON®-VI licensing requirements can be tricky without reliable performance additives and support from the additive manufacturer. GM vehicles that do not use DEXRON® branded transmission fluid are liable to transmission issues, such as component damage, slipping gears, worsening shifting performance, and difficult start-ups during colder temperatures.
