HiTEC® 5724 polymethacrylate-based viscosity index improver delivers excellent shear stability for automotive and industrial oil formulations.
HiTEC® 5724 methacrylate polymer–based viscosity index improver is designed for formulating automotive and industrial lubricants, including hydraulic fluids and crankcase oils. It provides secondary pour point depressant characteristics that prevent wax crystal formation for enhanced low-temperature performance. Its excellent shear stability makes it ideally suited for strenuous applications or situations that require longer fluid life. HiTEC® 5724 additive is highly soluble in a wide variety of base oil types, including Group I, Group II, and Group III mineral oil, and solvent-neutral oil.

Kinematic viscosity at 100°C, cSt: 1,250
Lubricants exposed to wide temperature variance can have poor viscosity control without proper additives. This leads to excessive thinning at high temperatures and thickening at low temperatures. Both scenarios can result in poor lubrication, equipment wear, and premature failure. In freezing environments, mineral oil–based lubricants are prone to gel or solidify, which can cause serious performance or equipment issues.
