Halocarbon® 28I
Halocarbon® 28I is a silica-thickened, medium-viscosity PCTFE grease designed for operations across a broad service temperature range. It is an NLGI 2 class grease and has a service temperature of -20°C to 120°C.
Appearance: Grease Color: Off-white pH: Neutral Melting point, °C: >200 Density, g/mL @ 38°C: 1.9 Water solubility: Negligible Decomposition temperature, °C: >200 Kinematic viscosity @ 40°C: >200 NLGI: 2 ASTM Penetration: 265 to 295 Service temperature, °C: -20 to 120 CAS No 9002-83-9
Primary Chemistry:
Halocarbon® 28I is a silica-thickened, medium-viscosity PCTFE grease designed for operations across a broad service temperature range.
Halocarbon® 28I is a high-quality lubricating grease manufactured by Halocarbon through a controlled polymerization process and subsequently stabilized to preserve its unique properties. Produced as part of Halocarbon’s line of reactive gas lubricants, it contains high-quality polychlorotrifluoroethylene (PCTFE) oil thickened with very fine silica powder additives. This lubricating grease is medium bodied and has a moderate viscosity of >200 at 40°C and maintains viscosity and stability across a wide temperature range of -20°C to 120°C. Halocarbon® 28I is recommended for use in a wide range of industrial applications but typical applications include valve lubrication, thread sealant applications, assembly lubricant, and regulator lubricants. As an inert, nonflammable, and nonreactive grease, it can also be used in reactive applications that involve flammable, corrosive, or hazardous materials and remains compatible with oxygen, chlorine, and other reactive gases. All Halocarbon® oils are also available with anticorrosion additives upon request at no extra charge.
