Halocarbon® 56 Oil is a premium-quality lubricating oil with a polychlorotrifluoroethylene (PCTFE) base. It has a low viscosity of 56 cSt at 37.8°C and a low molecular weight. This lubricant is formulated by Halocarbon through a controlled polymerization process and then refined to remove atomic hydrogen or oxygen. Due to its unique chemistry and molecular structure, it is designed for use in reactive fluid applications, where the fluid must be inert, nonflammable, and nonreactive to ensure optimal safety and reliability. It also provides excellent performance properties, such as high thermal stability, low compressibility, low-temperature fluidity, good heat-transfer properties, excellent sealing and lubrication, and wide material compatibility.
