Aspartame is an amino acid-based sweetener with a sugar-like taste. This low-calorie sweetening ingredient doesn't linger or have a metallic aftertaste. Because it is based on protein building blocks, aspartame is digested the same way as other protein foods and it is both tooth friendly and diabetic friendly. It's an excellent sweetener choice to meet taste and calorie goals in low- and no-calorie food and beverages.
