ADCOTE™ 37R345-PS is a water-based heat seal coating based on ethylene vinyl acetate. It is primarily used as a breathable adhesive to seal and form sterilizable pouch medical packaging.
ADCOTE™ 37R345-PS is a water-based dispersion of ethylene vinyl acetate used as a heat seal coating in medical and pharmaceutical packaging. When applied to Tyvek®, sterilizable paper, or spunbonded polyolefin at a coating weight of 2.0–5.0 pounds per ream, it forms a nontacky, porous, gas-sterilizable coating. Since the ethylene vinyl acetate resin is thermoplastic, the ADCOTE™ 37R345-PS coating can then be heated to form a seal to polystyrene, vinyl, XT® polymer, and polyethylene at a relatively low activation temperature for peelable bonds with good moisture resistance. As ADCOTE™ 37R345-PS is porous, it allows for sterilization treatment to pass through to reach medical instruments within packaging structures. ADCOTE™ 37R345-PS can also be used as a base for formulating functional coatings for flexible substrates.
