BUSAN® 1078 is a highly effective, EPA-registered preservative based on an aqueous mixture of methylchloroisothiazolinone and methylisothiazolinone (CMIT/MIT). It provides excellent broad-spectrum microbial protection at low use levels for water-based paints, coatings, adhesives, and industrial products.
BUSAN® 1078 is a combination of two nonionic isothiazoline derivatives that provide broad-spectrum microorganism control in water-based industrial applications. It is a non-foaming, water-based product that remains persistent in the system, providing microbiological control over an extended period of time. When diluted below use concentrations, BUSAN® 1078 is readily biodegradable and is easily deactivated when necessary.
The product should be added early in the manufacturing process to prevent any unknown contaminants from becoming a potential problem and at a point that will assure uniform mixing. To ensure uniform mixing, add BUSAN® 1078 microbicide to latex or solutions slowly with agitation.
