DOWANOL™ DPnB
DOWANOL™ DPnB is a glycol ether solvent from Dow that is excellent for use in coatings, paint removers, degreasers, metal cleaners, and hard surface cleaners.
DOWANOL™ DPnB is a dipropylene glycol n-butyl ether-based solvent from Dow that offers relatively slow evaporation, hydrophobicity, and coalescing properties to a variety of formulations.
DOWANOL™ DPnB glycol ether is a highly efficient coalescent for use in water-borne latex systems. It also offers various properties that continue to a high-quality latex film, including slow evaporation rate, polymer plasticizing efficiency, large molecular size for greater polymer mobility, and strong partitioning to the polymer phase. DOWANOL™ DPnB also provides exceptional compatibility with various resin types.
DOWANOL™ DPnB is also used to lower the surface tension of cleaning products. It can be used alone or combined with other glycol ethers such as DOWANOL™ DPM glycol ethers from Dow Chemicals. DPnB Glycol ethers are also used for removing oils and greases in hard surface cleaners and cold metal cleaning applications.
DOWANOL™ DPnB offers a combination of good solvency, surface tension lowering ability, and slow evaporation, making it a universal solution for use in a broad array of water-based and solvent-based formulations.
