Solus™ 1000 is a cellulose-based additive designed to improve the performance of solvent-based and UV-curable printing inks.
Solus™ 1000 is a plant-based additive that modifies chemical and physical properties to create better aesthetics and productivity in solvent-based and UV-curable ink formulations and overprint varnishes. It is soluble in a variety of solvents and highly compatible with various binders and other additives in ink formulations. Among Solus™ additives, Solus™ 1000 imparts relatively low viscosity to solutions, making it ideal for low-viscosity inks, such as digital, flexographic, and gravure inks. When added to these, flow and leveling are improved, which helps enhance image definition and facilitate better adhesion to low-energy substrates used in packaging and graphic arts applications. Solus™ 1000 also promotes better early-cure hardness development, making it more durable in the early stages of curing and creating faster dry-to-touch times. Solus™ 1000 is an ideal choice as an additive made from renewable resources because it contains approximately 37% bio content.
