Solus™ 5250 is a cellulose-based additive used in wood coatings and lacquers to improve appearance, durability, and early-cure hardness. Of the Solus™ wood coating additives, it imparts relatively high viscosity to formulations. It is completely soluble in a variety of solvents and helps form films with high clarity. Solus™ 5250 does not impart color to films formed and helps the film resist coloration due to UV exposure, making it an ideal additive to preserve the natural color and beauty of wood substrates. Solus™ 5250 helps improve flow and leveling properties that help minimize visual defects. It also builds viscosity relatively quickly upon the cure of the wood coating system it is used in, helping to prevent abrasion and marring during early application stages.
